About the Inn

Old World Charm with New World Comfort

The Salem Inn immerses you in the history and charm of Salem, one of New England's oldest treasures, while providing the most modern amenities to keep you comfortable. At the Inn you'll find charming architectural features such as working fireplaces in the guest rooms and beehive ovens in our cozy breakfast room, as well as complimentary WiFi, breakfast and parking. Some rooms include jacuzzis and our family suites have equipped kitchenettes. The Salem Inn is pet and family-friendly.

The Inn features 40 guest rooms in three historic homes. Each room is named to reflect some aspect of Salem's unique history: famous historical figures (the Derby Room), paranormal activity (the Haunted Room), and locations (the Southfields Room). Collectively, they tell the history and convey the rich flavor of this great city. We welcome you to browse among our rooms using our 3-D virtual tours and choose one that meets your needs. Or let us know what you're looking for in terms of amenities and we'll find the right room for you.

Please note: we do not have elevators nor bell boys in any of the three properties.

Why Do People Love The Salem Inn?

Walking distance from everything!! Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was great. The breakfast staff were fantastic! Comfortable beds. Clean room. The text reminds you of breakfast and asking about cleaning. Just over all the best travel experience.

Amazing communication from the hotel and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Nice traditional hotel. We stayed in Peabody 6 which would sleep 6 with plenty of space. Facilities were great and breakfast was delicious.

Charlotte

Very helpful staff and comfortable rooms with the feeling that you are staying at a home rather than a hotel.

Very comfortable and close to everything in Salem. We arrived early and they let us park. Enjoyed a glass of wine on the back patio – very relaxing after a day of exploring! Had a wonderful omelet and great coffee to start our day! Staff & room were wonderful!

Everything about this experience was simply one word-EASY! From finding a room, to checking in/checking out, and reserving breakfast was very well organized. My sister and I stayed in the Curwen House-Room C23 which was The Bowditch room. Very spacious and very clean! The Curwen House is located diagonal from the Ropes Mansion, and right down the street from The Witch House and Essex Street. We parked the car upon arrival and did not need it again until we left. We’re already booked for The West House in 2023 and we cannot wait to go back!

We loved our stay here. The service was excellent and contactless throughout my whole stay. They contacted me through text regarding the complimentary wine toasting and breakfast in the am. The room was very cute and old. The whole hotel was! I loved it. It was located within walking distance from everything. The parking is scarce but they will give you a parking pass to park in a lot for free. It is a 6 min walk back to the hotel. Will stay again!!!

We loved everything about The Salem Inn! We stayed at the West House and everyone was so nice and the rooms were very clean when we arrived. Complimentary breakfast was great and it was nice being checked on if we wanted room service or not for the day. I would recommend staying here to anyone coming to Salem and we’re definitely going to be returning one day!

My recent stay at the Salem Inn in Salem, Massachusetts, was truly outstanding in every aspect. The room, characterized by its pristine cleanliness and unexpected spaciousness, provided a delightful retreat. The jacuzzi tub added a touch of luxury, while the inviting fireplace enhanced the overall comfort. What truly set the Salem Inn apart, however, was it’s incredibly convenient parking situation. The ease of parking, coupled with the central location, made exploring Salem’s historic sites and attractions a breeze. A particularly thoughtful gesture was the Inn allowing us to keep our car in the parking lot even after we checked out. This gesture not only made our departure stress-free but also allowed us to continue exploring the city on foot without the worry of parking. From the charming room amenities to the attentive details, the Salem Inn goes above and beyond to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience. Without a doubt, this establishment earns a well-deserved five-star rating for its exceptional service and thoughtful accommodations.
